This is one of a series of exquisite needlepoint works by Pandora Vaughan, who has used architectural plans of prisons to examine relationships between the way we confine our fellow humans and ways in which we confine ourselves. This piece is based ona. rethinking of the historic Canadian penitentiary in Kingston. The repitition and labour required to make these pieces uses needlepoint, not only as a metaphor for prisons, but to lay out the hidden landscape that lies within.
